Hwa Chong ELDDFS is proud of their long-standing tradition of artistic endeavour and achievement. Our vision is to bring the literary arts to the masses, through the marvellous media of Literature, Drama, Debate and Film. In English. It is their ultimate goal to put up an interdisciplinary performance of a group of people filming each other debating in iambic pentameter while imitating flamingoes.

ELDDFS is made up of students who have a keen interest in and passion for the arts, in any form. They come from all walks of life and can be found doing all sorts of dastardly deeds, from saying things onstage that other people told them to say, to carrying toilet bowls around, to (gasp!) entering competitions for the sake of winning money. We lead very exciting lives.

Every year, ELDDFS holds the inter-faculty competition Dramafeste, puts up at least one major production, hosts a variety of interschool competitions from Young Adult Writers Perform! to the Debate Invitationals, and organizes arts outreach programme Camp RE:ACT!. They also engage in other artistic activities, like watching movies very late at night and sitting under trees composing poetry.
